A shop's busiest hour is the worst possible time to discover the internet is down. Aned Book bills, prints, manages stock and produces its reports with no connection at all, because none of it is on somebody else's server.
There is no account to log into and no subscription that can lapse and lock you out. The licence is perpetual and lives on your machine.
Your invoices, items, customers, suppliers and accounts sit on your own computer, encrypted on disk — not readable by opening the file in a text editor. We cannot read them either; there is no copy on our side to read.
A backup is taken when you close the software, and only when something actually changed — so the folder does not fill with identical copies of a quiet day. Point it at a pen drive or a second disk as well, and a dead machine costs you nothing.
We would rather say this plainly than have you find out afterwards. Because there is no server, there is no cloud backup and no sync over the internet. A second billing counter works over your shop's own wifi, on the same books, live — but not from another city. If you need branches in different towns sharing one set of books today, this is not the software for you yet.
Sending a bill to a customer on WhatsApp, and downloading an update. Neither is needed to raise an invoice.

No. Backups are local, and to a second folder of your choosing — a pen drive or another disk. We would rather say so than imply otherwise.
On Lite and Basic there is nothing to keep paying. Billing never stops, and your data is never locked or deleted in any state.
