What you own when you buy Aned Book, and what a lapsed renewal does and does not stop.
You buy a licence, once
An Aned Book licence is a one-time payment for one billing counter. It is perpetual: it does not expire and there is no monthly fee to keep the software running.
The licence is issued against the computer it will run on, and includes twelve months of updates and support counted from the day it is activated — not from the day it was issued, so time on a dealer's shelf never comes out of your year.
What a lapsed support period stops
On Lite and Basic, when the twelve months end:
- Billing never stops. You keep raising invoices, for ever, with no renewal of any kind. A shop that cannot bill a waiting customer is not something we will ship.
- What stops is software updates, GST rate and HSN table updates, and phone and e-mail support.
- Those can be renewed at any time with the optional AMC — ₹1,200 + tax a year on Lite, ₹2,400 + tax a year on Basic. Renewing on or before the due date gives thirteen months for twelve, and there is no reactivation fee at any age.
On Silver and Gold, which are sold as yearly subscriptions and say so at the point of sale, billing does stop if the renewal is left — 29 days after the date, with two warning stages before it. Even then nothing is deleted, and moving to a perpetual Basic licence brings billing back permanently.
Your data is never held hostage
- Nothing in the software deletes, corrupts or time-bombs your books, in any state.
- Export keeps working whatever the licence state.
- GST records must be kept for eight years. Destroying a shop's books would be its legal problem and our disgrace, so the software will not do it.
No reactivation fee, at any age
Come back after three years and it is an ordinary renewal at the ordinary price. There is no penalty for having been away.
Moving up an edition
Upgrading costs the difference in licence price and nothing else. Your renewal date does not move while support is running.
What you may and may not do
- One licence covers one billing counter. Extra counters are bought separately.
- The people who sign in at your shop are unlimited and free.
- You may not copy the software for another business, resell it, or work around the licensing.
- You may move your licence to a replacement computer — tell us and we will reissue it.
Terms change only for new licences
The terms your licence was sold under are recorded inside the licence itself. A change we make later applies to licences issued after it, never to yours.
